Uncovered helps you discover books through reading and audiobook previews. We never sell your information or run advertising. This page explains the account features and the measurements we use to improve the experience.
We collect your email only when you choose an email or sign-in feature. We store your saved books so your shelf can follow your verified account. A necessary sign-in cookie, uc_sess, keeps you signed in. Reading preferences and listening progress can also stay in your browser to make the book experience work.
When you describe a book you want, we send that text and your selected preferences to OpenAI to generate suggestions. Recommended titles and authors are sent to Open Library for book details, and book identifiers to Google Books for preview availability. Audio previews stream from the original provider. These services receive the requests needed to provide those features. Please leave personal or confidential information out of book searches.
We count actions such as page loads, book reveals, saves and link clicks using first-party aggregate analytics hosted by Cloudflare. These events contain no email, account identifier or persistent analytics browser identifier. Some include a book identifier, source category, country or device category. Our host processes standard connection and security information to run the site.
Optional browser-level analytics is paused. We no longer collect new browser-linked visits, searches or listening records through that system. Basic aggregate usage counts continue. Microsoft Clarity session recording is not loaded.
To request deletion of previously collected analytics records, contact [email protected]. Existing records remain subject to the retention periods below.
The optional browser identifier expires after 90 days. Browser-linked analytics records are retained for up to 90 days, with daily maintenance removing expired records. A non-readable deletion marker can remain for 90 days to prevent delayed events from restoring deleted history. Combined daily statistics, without browser or session identifiers, are retained for up to 13 months. The underlying aggregate Analytics Engine event stream is retained for three months.
We keep your account email and shelf until you ask us to delete them. You can unsubscribe from email at any time. Contact us to access, correct or delete your account information. Clearing your browser's data removes local preferences and identifiers, but does not by itself send a deletion request for records already received.
